The story behind the Yura Banji Scooters Logo:
Yura Banji means Hello Friend in the Jandai language, the language of the Quandamooka People, who have lived on Minjerribah for millenia. The Founders and Owners of Yura Banji Scooters are bridging between Aboriginal and European cultures.
Our logo is inspired by the island lifestyle of Minjerribah – it is laid-back yet spirited whilst representing our cultures, it also speaks to our customers who appreciates adventure, the environment and sustainable travel.
Banji which means (brother in-law, friend, mate) is also the name of our icon depicted as a spirit figure. The icon represents Darryl Iselin, father and father in-law of the founders. He was an Indigenous man known for his sense of fun, adventure and love of our island home – which he welcomes to all.
The colours of the logo draw inspiration from the ochre of the earth but also the amazing sunsets seen at Mulumba (Point Lookout), Pulan (Amity) and Gumpi (Dunwich) across the water from North Stradbroke Island.
